Question for Antiquarian book collectors?
I purchased a book titled The Day's Work by Rudyard Kipling at a local library booksale today. Inside its cover the copyright years stated are: 1894, 1895, 1896, 1897, 1898, 1905.
Can someone tell me what this mean? If this book contains a certain appraisable value, would you know of a website or where and how I can get in touch with an antiquarian dealer who can appraise this copy? Your responses are greatly appreciated and thank-you.
The multiple dates means that this copy was printed and distributed in 1905. It is a 6th edition. As a general rule, only First Editions are of value. If the only date was 1894 you might have something. You can get it appraised, but although it is a famous work by a famous author, expect it to only be valued at $5 - $10 US dollars.
