Dolphins of P.E.R.N. By: Anne McCaffrey?

Can someone please give me a good summary of what happens in this book. I've listened to every PERN audiobook except THE Dolphins of Pern and The Skies of Pern. I will listen to theSkies of Pern next but I can't stand listening to the dolphins of pern. the guy narrating is aweful! I have to keep adjusting my volume while I'm working. And the dolphin voices make me want to scream. ) Thanks!!!
ah, I wish I had time to read. It takes me forever to read a book. My job is sitting at a computer all day long and it requires very little of my brain so I listen to audiobooks all day everyday. P
btw, I've listened all the way up to the part where one of the dolphins gets hurt and has to have a healer stich up this big gash on his side. they've recently learned about the sonar that allows the dolphis to tell if a woman is pregnant. It's about 1/3 of the way into the book i'd guess...

its a great book, ( you might try reading it instead of listening to it)

pretty much since the treat of Tread is diminishing for good, the dragon riders start migrating to the south, where T'lion and Readis come in contact with several pods of "Shipfish" which have always been a kind of legend to those not in the fishing craft. and they discover they are intelligent,
they get info from Avis that shows how it was with the ancients and the dolphins so T'lion and the master Harper's ( menolly and robinton are involved with trying to find old info about the dolphins and menolly's brother how is now in charge of half cove hold
Readis becomes the new dolphin partner and starts bringing back that tradition and teaching others, i could go on and on it was one of my favorites but you'll never really get the feel of the characters or the dolphin's, Like Alta and Boogie without reading it
